This wonderful example of whimsy and craftsmanship provides a glimpse into the subtle sense of humour that is a core element of the Romanian people.

The Mask or face is created by combining a hand carved base with nose; then adding embellishments for eyes, mouth and hat. This piece is completed with lots of colored hand spun and dyed yarn in various lengths. The top of the yarn is woven together and is attached to a a hand tooled leather piece with Romania burned into it along with other decorations. The entire mask measures approximately 3′ in length.
